Three Apprentices from LSH AUTO Australia Win WPC Group Scholarship to US

The scholarship has been awarded to LSH AUTO Australia since 2016 and is funded by the Workplace Institute through Skilling Australia Foundation, the philanthropic arm of WPC Group.

Fearghus will be joined by two other LSH AUTO Australia apprentices who also won the international scholarship: Mikaela Lawrence from Mercedes-Benz Brisbane and Bianka Chiodo from Mercedes-Benz Melbourne. All three of them will be provided with an exceptional opportunity to experience a once in a lifetime scholarship opportunity where they will travel to the United States of America for a cultural and career development tour in Sep. 2018.

Skilling Australia Foundation will provide each apprentice:

  • Chaperone/mentor
  • Mercedes-Benz branded uniforms and protective equipment
  • Cover the costs of all flights, transfers, accommodation, meals, and insurances.

The purpose of this scholarship is to see first-hand how Mercedes-Benz America approach skills in the area of automotive which will benefit their knowledge and development. They will bring back an experience that they can share with others in their workplace.

“Skill development is one of LSH Auto’s core brand values and we work very closely with WPC and other apprenticeship programs to ensure that we are supporting, educating and developing young apprentices looking to break into the automotive industry.” says John Good, Managing Director of LSH AUTO Australia, “Fearghus, Mikaela and Bianka are great examples of how LSH AUTO Australia are investing in young talents. They have been given this opportunity based on merit and they have proven themselves to be major assets to our business. We look forward to their growing within the business beyond their apprenticeship.”
