LSH Auto Australia and Street Side Medics, a partnership in community care

  • Street Side Medics in Sydney and Melbourne see more than 20,000 patients.
  • With LSH Auto Australia support, fleet of six vans continues to grow.
  • Services reaching into NSW regional centres.
  • Planning for Canberra and Adelaide underway.

The LSH Auto Australia and Street Side Medics partnership has been instrumental in reaching the major milestone of delivering more than 20,000 engagements with homeless and dispossessed patients since the mobile medical service’s inception in 2020.

Launched at LSH Auto Mercedes-Benz Sydney facility in May of 2020, at which event the first donated van was handed over, Street Side Medics is about to roll-out their sixth van and have expanded from their Sydney origins to include clinics in regional centres and two clinics in Melbourne. The Melbourne launch of Street Side Medics was held at Mercedes-Benz Melbourne late last year, attended by the Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese.

Street Side Medics was founded by 2022 Young Australia of the Year, and LSH Auto Ambassador Dr. Daniel Nour. The partnership with LSH Auto has allowed the vital medical service to grow rapidly and is a clear demonstration of the LSH Auto Australia commitment to contributing to the communities in which they operate.

According to LSH Auto Australia Managing Director, John Good; “Our partnership with Street Side Medics has grown with their expansion of services and has become a central part of our community engagement. To see Daniel and his team of volunteers reach such a significant milestone, and soon to commission their sixth van, is something that makes our entire team very proud to be part of. Daniel had a vision to provide medical care for those less fortunate, and we are grateful that we are able to continue our support of making that vision a reality.

Dr Nour underscored the importance of major corporate participation in allowing Street Side Medics to deliver their services and to plan for expansion. “LSH Auto were amongst our very first supporters. Obviously, their significant contributions facilitate the physical delivery of the medical services that are so needed by patients we see.”

“A service such as ours could not survive without the hard work of our volunteers, but we simply would not be able to reach the number of patients we do without the LSH Auto partnership and the backing of other business and community groups. It’s a whole of community effort and it’s so encouraging to see major businesses play such a positive role in their communities.”

With the support of LSH Auto Australia, Street Side Medics is now branching out of Sydney and Melbourne with the first regional mobile clinic held in Nowra, NSW, and preparations for future deployments to Adelaide and Canberra underway.
